About
Aerial Robotics & Rocketry Club
A MESSAGE FROM OUR President
The Aerial Robotics & Rocketry Club was founded in 2015 by Blago and Ilija Hristovski at UBC's Okanagan campus. At the time, there were no options available for students interested in pursuing aerospace engineering. The Aerial Robotics and Rocketry Club has helped change those conditions immensely, by providing an engaging environment where students can take flight in their passion for aerospace engineering. Thanks to Aerial Robotics and Rocketry Club and its many supporters, "aerospace" is becoming a hot topic at UBC's Okanagan campus.
The club is mainly an engineering club, but it is open to students of all faculties and currently has students from the following disciplines: Engineering, Science, Computer Science, Creative and Critical Studies, and Management. The club meets once per week and focuses on building novel unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) that will be used for a variety of applications including aerial forest firefighting, surveillance, and mapping, to name a few. The focus of the club for the 2023/2024 season will be continuing to develop our divisions, towards our goal of competing and succeeding in future competitions.
The club also hosts a variety of events including industry nights, learning workshops, and social events. There is always a need for student volunteers with a passion for aerospace and a strong work ethic at Aerial Robotics and Rocketry Club. Whether you want to design and build aircraft, plan and coordinate events, or learn more about the aerospace industry, please feel free to come to the club meetings. You can check our website for upcoming events or if you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us!
We look forward to having you onboard!
